Biggdaddy Ray  /  On Air Personality

Ray Hansen is born and raised in Walla Walla WA.  Currently employed as a Security Supervisor and as a Security Officer at Whitman College, where his radio show started in 2004.  A father of four sons and a grandfather of 5 boys and 1 girl.  Ray enjoys sports and the outdoors and have always loved music; especially music with a message.

Blues Therapy Radio started in 2004, as Biggdaddy’s Blues Show, at KWCW a college radio station.  The show’s main purpose was to get more people to listen to Blues and to encourage folks to join the local Blues Society, of which Ray was President.  A fan poll to rename the show led to the name changing to Blues Therapy Radio.In 2007 the show was syndicated through an online radio station.  Soon after a handful of other online stations started carrying the show.  As the international audience grew affiliates stepped up from the Coast of Spain, the UK, Canada and Amsterdam.

In 2011 Ray was nominated for induction into the Official Blues Hall of Fame by Bluesman Jimmy Lloyd Rea.  At the same time Blues Therapy was enjoying success and ran a streak of 14 years straight as a finalist for Best Blues Radio Show in the Inland Empire.  To date Blues Therapy Radio has 943 recorded episodes.
